When I heard that the Coos Art Museum was having a juried photography exhibition I knew I had to participate. The show is titled Pacific Shores Photography Exhibition and runs through February 21, 2015. I don’t usually do photo contests, but this one I wanted to support. It’s been some years since the art museum had a contest exclusively for photography. I have enjoyed being a member this year and love the exhibits that showcase local artists. We are so lucky here in Coos Bay to have such a beautiful art museum and thriving art community.
I entered three pieces in the show. It was hard deciding on what to submit. I was grateful that all three of mine were accepted in the show. When I was thinking about what I wanted to enter, I felt I should submit photos that meant a lot to me and were my favorites.
Friday evening was the opening reception and I am honored that my Palouse Highlights took the first place ribbon for the evening! Thank you to the judges, Wood Sabold, Burl Noggle, Julie Noggle and Don Briggs, and the museum staff who do such an amazing job of curating such great shows and displays.
If you are in the local area, you can drop by the art museum and check out all the great photography in the show. There are many talented photographers in the show with beautiful works. You will not be disappointed.
