Back in 2015 I wrote a blog post about 5 photography podcasts that I was currently listening to at the time. I thought I would update the post to what it is now in 2019. A lot has changed since then as some podcasts have come and gone. I enjoy listening to photography podcasts while I’m exercising or while I’m doing post-processing of images. I hope if you haven’t heard of some of these you will check them out as the hosts are not only great photographers but also really wonderful people.

F-STOP, COLLABORATE AND LISTEN

Matt Payne started the podcast back in 2017.  Matt is a landscape photographer himself, based out of Colorado so his main focus is nature and landscape photography. He has a huge inventory of outstanding interviews for you to enjoy. More than likely, your favorite photographers have already been interviewed there. Checking on his website at the time of this post, he has over 130 recorded episodes! I had the privilege of being interviewed for the show in March of this year. You can find it here. Matt has a casual, laid back style of interviewing that lends itself well to stimulating great discussions.

F8 | THE PHOTOGRAPHERS PERSPECTIVE

I began listening to this podcast by Chris Smith this year and I am really enjoying it. I honestly didn’t know that the founder of Out of Chicago had a podcast. Chris often interviews photographers that are instructors at some of his Out of Chicago workshops. This past October I was one of the instructors at the Out of Oregon Conference held on the Oregon Coast. Chris and his team did a phenomenal job of coordinating this spectacular conference. I had a wonderful time at the conference. Chris is a former teacher so you will enjoy his interview style as he has one of those fantastic radio style voices.

THE PICTURING SUCCESS PODCAST

Rick Sammon and Larry Becker are the hosts for this photography podcast. I really enjoy Rick’s enthusiasm the comes out when he’s talking about photography and during his interviews with other photographers. I met Rick on the beaches in Bandon a number of years ago while shooting with a photo friend. Back then I was on his previous podcast, The Digital Photography Show. Rick has written about 40 photography books. He’s also known for his inspirational workshops and speaking engagements.

THE LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY PODCAST

Nick Page is the host of this landscape photography podcast. He has had many of my favorite landscape photographers on it. I had the privilege of meeting Nick at the Out of Oregon Conference this year. Nick has a large following on his great YouTube channel where he does gear reviews, trip vlogs, and shares photography tips.

THE LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW

David Johnston is no stranger to doing podcasts. He had a show for a few years called the Photography Roundtable. His new podcast just started recently and already has several episodes available to listen to. I was fortunate to be interviewed at the end of summer. You can listen to it here. David is also active on YouTube.  On his channel you will find weekly photography videos on how to shoot landscapes, photography gear, and reviews.
